‘Having worked for many years as a teacher at Bloxham School, I have a breadth of work experience related to this field and as SENCO, I gained an excellent working knowledge of cognition and neurodiversity. My new company, www.learningkit.co.uk , aims to support pupils, parents and Learning Support Departments (SENCO’s and Specialist Assessors) to excel and thrive. As part of the role of SENCO I have had so many varied opportunities to be at the forefront of my profession. Amongst the most exciting have been the technological developments over the last 3 years. The arrival of Teams, One note, Dictate , Read Aloud and cPen’s have been fundamental to enabling the dyslexic pupils I work with to feel empowered and boost their self-esteem , helping them make progress at or above their peer level of attainment at KS3, GCSE and A level. Having the PG Certification in Literacy Difficulties, the AMBDA and the Assessors Practicing Certificate, I can tutor, assess or offer consultancy whist adhering to the BDA code of Ethics and Conduct for Accreditation.
